Day 33 – Editing Rough Draft

I finally finished that long chapter! I only have two more to go and then I’ll be done the revised draft. Well just about done it. I noticed something I talked about in a later chapter that I am going to have to go back and add in an earlier one in order to help with plot progression. It doesn’t have to be a big part of it, but if I don’t mention it at least, it’s going to cause parts of it to sort of fall apart. I prefer to be thorough.

I apologize for the gap between posts and editing. Last week was busy and chaotic for so many reasons – emotionally, mentally, and physically – and I was unable to get on my computer and edit. For the most part, it feels as though some of it has passed and that means I can get back to editing and finishing the revised draft.

I am short on time today however. I do have an inbox full of things I need to do on here though, and I do plan to get to them. Hope everyone’s week is going well!

Day 32 – Editing Rough Draft

I had a bit of time today and managed to get another part of that chapter edited. If I can manage enough time tomorrow, I should have it done.

For the most part, the editing and the chapter itself is coming along well. I am looking forward to completing the revised draft, and I am also looking forward to the short break I’ll be able to take as well. I will need to ensure that my mind will be clear to start it over again. I have also decided, that during the short break, I will work on some short stories. It will just be the rough drafts, but I’ll get them done, and, when I think my manuscript is ready for publishers, I’ll edit the short stories and see about getting them published first. In theory, this should make it easier to get my novel published afterwards.

Anyway, I have quite the headache that is bordering itself on a migraine, so I am going to go. I have a lot of things to do today and I don’t want this to get worse.

Day 31 – Editing Rough Draft

I finally started tackling that longer chapter. Conveniently, I had it separated in 2000 (approximately) word sections, so that’s making it easier to edit. I finished the first section today and will continue working on the others when more time comes into my favour.

Unfortunately, I don’t have long to update today, but I am going to try to get through some of the likes and follows before I go off to do other things.

I hope everyone’s week is going well.

Day 30 – Editing Rough Draft

Things moved at a good pace today so I was able to get some editing in! I finishing one more chapter, even lengthened it, and it is sounding better. It was a bit rough in a couple areas, but I managed to fix it up for the most part. There was one particular sentence that I had to laugh at because it was so dam terrible. I have no idea what I was thinking when I was writing it initially.

I have three more chapters to do, all of which are relatively long. I will need to put more time aside, but I know I will somehow manage to do it. I have also decided, after I take a short break before editing the revised draft for the final draft, that I will print out the entire manuscript and write all over it. I think it will be better that way. I mean it’s easy to edit it through Scrivener, but I think it will work a bit better since I’m also going to be having someone else look at it. I have a plan forming in my mind as to how I’m going to do this too.

Anyway, I hope everyone’s week is going well. I also hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Day 29 – Editing Rough Draft

At last I have had time to edit the entirety of the long chapter that was ahead of me! Well, one of the long chapters that lay before me. The best part about it was that I was able to do it outside in my backyard with my dogs relaxing in the shade and the sun. The weather is finally nice enough to sit outside and enjoy it, and the dogs are relieved that we’re outside with them now. It’s quite peaceful out here and I think that made editing all the more enjoyable.

The chapter is the beginning of everything starting to settle down a bit, as well as the set up for the second book. It’s the very start of the set up for the second book, as it kind of spans over the next few chapters. The next chapter actually shouldn’t be too bad, length wise, so I’m hoping to get that one edited this week sometime. Otherwise, the following ones are much longer, and therefore I will need to find time to put aside for them.

I am nearing the end though….I literally have four more chapters and then I’ll be finished the revised draft of book 1. It’s both exciting and completely terrifying. Once it’s complete, I’ll be taking a short break before coming back and doing the final draft. It will also be the time where I have a close friend of mine take a look at it and help me find things I might have missed going through it. I’m really quite happy and excited about the things to come.

I hope everyone is having a great week. I hope that things are going well for all of you, and that nice weather has finally come for all of you too.

Day 28 – Editing Rough Draft

I have completed two chapters so far this week, however I was unable to update about the previous one. Either way, I’m updating now!

The chapters are coming together and the climax of the story is just about done. There is one last chapter to go through and then merely the rest of it. The rest of it, however, are the longer chapters and will take more time to sit down and properly edit. Regardless, my revised draft is coming together quite well.

I am working on ideas for short stories in order to get them published prior to sending out my manuscript. As it stands, in this country, you have to be published in order for a company to take your novel. I will be spending some time after the revised draft is done working on that. I think I should have some written and published by the end of the year and time it to have my entire book 1 complete as well.

I haven’t had too much time to go over everyone who has followed me in the last while or liked my posts. I apologize for that. I am going to try to find some time this week to get caught up on everything. I am so thankful for all of you who follow me and like my posts. I appreciate the support more than anything.

Day 27 – Editing Rough Draft

One more chapter down and 7 more to go! I may not be on top of it quite like I was before, but I’m still making progress. The current chapter and the ones that follow, at least some of them, are all about the climax and the big event for book 1. It also helps propel right into the events of book 2. It’s kind of exciting for me to be re-reading it all.

This week doesn’t look too hectic so I’m hoping to get a couple more chapters edited if I can. Whenever I think my week looks slow, it usually finds a way to catch up to me so I feel like I can’t guarantee myself of exceeding my goals. I am going to try however.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far, and that the rest goes well!

Day 26 – Editing Rough Draft

One more chapter down! I am getting ever closer to finishing the revised draft. I have about 8 more chapters to go, which, if I’m lucky, means only 8 more days of editing. There are some chapters that are relatively long though, so I’m not entirely certain it will only take 8 days.

Anyway, I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. I have a fair bit more to do today before I can relax once more.

Day 25 – Editing Rough Draft

I finished another chapter, and it was a long one. I’m kind of surprised I managed to get as much done as I did actually. When I started it, I expected to have to stop midway through and make notes on the side so I knew where to pick up again tomorrow. Luckily, that wasn’t the case.

I am happy with the progression of this chapter and how well it is setting the things to come. I have a feeling the next few chapters will end up being much longer than they are. This is the climax after all.

I do have a busy day ahead of me however, so I have to keep this post short. Hope everyone’s week is going well.

Day 24 – Editing Rough Draft

All right, I edited another chapter. While I am incredibly exhausted today, I think I got most of it fixed up. It was a connecting chapter full of foreshadowing for a later event in the first book as well as books 2 and 3. Well mostly book 1 and 2. Either way, re-reading it, I was happy to see how I set a lot of it up. I mean there was still a fair bit to edit, but plot wise, I think it’s okay.

I have fallen away from editing almost every day, but I’m hoping to get back into it again. I only have nine more chapters to do, and I know some of them are going to be pretty long. The climax of the first book is coming up fast and it spans over a number of chapters. If I can, I will be trying to edit that part of the story as close together as possible to prevent any possible disconnect.

Anyway, I have to get going. I have a busy day ahead of me and lots to do still. Hope everyone’s week is going well!
