About rachelsparling

I'm a writer working on a manuscript for a novel. I love to write and I've been doing it for 17 years. Through several story ideas I have figured out what works and what doesn't, and I've learned a lot about myself and my writing style. I love to read and escape to many different worlds. I've also learned a lot about good writing and bad writing through both reading a lot and acquiring an education in English literature, and becoming an ESL teacher. I enjoy filming and photographing all sorts of things and putting together short documentaries and videos. I love my camera.

The Changing Tides

A lot has happened in the past several months, and I have returned back home to a dark time in political history for Canada. I can’t say that it’s the darkest, by any means Canada has certainly outdone itself in … Continue reading

Which Battles Do We Choose?

How do we rationalize what is worth fighting for when it comes to a job? How do we rationalize the difference between emotional needs and professional needs? Are they the same? Do we need emotional fulfillment at the same time … Continue reading

Christmas

Fast approaching is the time of the year where baking is normal, the smell of freshly made cookies fill the air in your home, and hot chocolate, or tea is drunk regularly. A turkey dinner awaits you on Christmas day, … Continue reading

It’s coming to an end, just one day away, and those 50,00 words will have to be validated. I finished my 50,000 words today, and to top it off, I finished my last novel! It’s over! The whole story! It … Continue reading
