I had a bit of time today and I finished the rest of the chapter. It was a long one with a fair bit of dialogue and information. Less description, more information. It’s necessary for a lot of reasons of course. Anyway, there was more to fix in it but it’s all coming together relatively well I think.
It has been an odd and busy week so far and I have a feeling it will continue to be quite busy. I hope everyone else’s weeks are going a bit better.
I had a bit of time so I got a scene from a larger chapter edited. It may not be another completed chapter but I’m making progress so I’m happy.
The fun part about the scene is that it introduces a new character that will pop up here and there through out the rest of the story. I plan to incorporate him in later scenes and books so it should be fun in the end. I like the character too. He’s different and it took a bit of getting used to for writing him as well. He’s a good contrast to the main character.
Anyway, I have lots to do today so I better start getting things done. Hope everyone’s week is going well and here’s to the weekend, quickly approaching.
I have finally finished that chapter! I edited the last scene and there was more to do with it than the rest of it, but that’s okay. I am quite happy that I caught as much as I did. A part of me wishes I could’ve completed the whole thing over the weekend but day light savings time really messed with my sleep schedule. I’m still recovering from the lack of sleep.
A new start to a new week and I’m hoping to get in editing more frequently. There are 11 more chapters to go and then I’ll be going back over the revised draft. I will probably take a short break, perhaps have someone close read over it and see what they think before I start editing it again. Sometimes an outside perspective can help me catch things I wouldn’t have normally realized were there.

Yesterday somehow managed to be busier than I had anticipated so I was unable to edit. I did however, manage to grab some time today. I got the next part of the chapter completed, and there is only one section left to do. I’m hoping I can squeeze it in this weekend.
We are coming to the end of another week and I hope that everyone has a good weekend ahead of them.
I got in a bit of time to edit and managed to finish a scene within a larger chapter. The chapter itself is quite long so it will take 2-3 days to full edit, but I have started it and made progress!
As it stands, I must get going though. There is a lot to do today and I’m running low on time to complete it all. Hope everyone is having a good week!
I had a couple really busy days this week that prevented me from having time to do some editing. Luckily, things have gone back to their normal pacing so I was able to get another chapter down.
It’s a chapter with a plot point that bleeds into the next couple chapters. It is kind of the first real big thing that happens besides everything that occurred earlier in the story. It’s setting things up for events and information revealed later on. I’m quite happy with how it is paced so far, and I didn’t have too much to edit this time around. I will probably realize a few more things when I go back though.
Anyway, I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend and have a great one! If I can get in the next chapter for editing before the week ends, I will.
I finished the chapter I had started on yesterday. The last two scenes were shorter and came together relatively quickly as I went through them. I think the flow and character consistency is still good. I am noticing a difference in my writing style a bit as I reach the later chapters, realizing the time and effort I had been putting into it. It’s not that I didn’t try with the earlier chapters, but the later ones seem to have a bit more ease to them, almost more consistent. It feels like there’s less to edit but of course, there’s always lots.
Given all of that above, I am curious to see how the rest of the chapters come along. Doing the National Novel Writing Month challenge had me writing on a regular basis and I could see my writing improving each day. It was gradual but I could definitely see the difference. So I am interested to see how the next chapters come together and how much I will need to fix. The earlier ones definitely needed more work and will continue to need it before completion.

I haven’t completed this chapter but I did get through the entire scene. The chapter is broken up into three scenes, and the first one is quite long. Given that, I only had time to do the first scene.
Luckily I am feeling better, and with good health comes a lot of stuff I have to get caught up on. Hope everyone is having a good start to their week.
It’s official, I reached my first chapter where I got a little too repetitive and had a bit too much information. I had to take out SO MUCH in the chapter and had to rephrase a number of things. I guess I wasn’t on top of things that day when I wrote it, but that’s okay, it’s what editing is all about. Anyway, it’s substantially shorter now. I’ll have to come up with clever ways of making it longer on another day.
Unfortunately, as we reach the weekend and end of a busy week, I am not feeling too well. Something hasn’t settled with me and I need to take it easy. I’m hoping it to be gone by the time the weekend rolls around or at the very least, ends, so I can get back to my usual week.

One more chapter down! This one required a fair bit of re-phrasing and a bit more editing, but it’s coming together well and I think when I go over it for the final draft, it will be a good one. It’s a chapter that connects events and moves things along, so it needs to be well written!
